According to the Atlys Travel Access Report 2026, Sri Lanka has emerged as the top destination for Indian travellers, followed closely by Thailand, the UAE, and Nepal. The report evaluated the top 50 global travel destinations based on a comprehensive index that considers visa ease, connectivity, affordability, and popularity. Visa ease and connectivity each accounted for 25% of the ranking criteria, while affordability contributed 15% and popularity was weighted at 35%. This ranking highlights the growing interest among Indian tourists in exploring nearby countries, particularly in South Asia and the Middle East. With Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, it is expected to attract a significant influx of Indian travellers in the coming years. Thailand, known for its vibrant tourism sector, and the UAE, with its modern attractions, also remain favourable choices. The report underscores the importance of accessible travel options as Indian citizens seek varied experiences abroad, reflecting broader trends in international tourism and travel preferences.
