Tiger toll mounts: 41 deaths in Maharashtra this year, 8 in MP's Bandhavgarh in 10 weeks - What were the causes?

In a concerning trend for wildlife conservation, Maharashtra has reported 41 tiger deaths this year, with 28 attributed to natural causes. The remaining fatalities include eight tigers that died in accidents, four from electrocution, and one due to poaching. Meanwhile, the Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh has also seen a spike in tiger mortality, with eight deaths recorded in just ten weeks. These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by tiger populations in India, which are threatened by habitat loss, human-animal conflict, and illegal poaching. Conservationists are urging for stronger protective measures and awareness campaigns to ensure the survival of these majestic animals. The alarming rise in mortality rates calls for immediate attention from both state and national authorities to address the underlying issues and implement effective strategies for wildlife protection.
