Spammers Targeted Indian Users With Over 4,100 Crore Calls and 12,903 Crore Messages in 2025, Truecaller Says

Truecaller's India Insights Report for 2025 reveals a staggering volume of spam communications targeting Indian users, with over 4,168 crore spam calls and 12,903 crore spam messages recorded. The report highlights the increasing challenge of digital spam and scams in the country, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance among users. Truecaller, a leading caller identification app, reported that it successfully blocked approximately 1,189 crore spam calls in the last year, indicating a proactive stance in combating this issue. Moreover, the data shows that around 770 crore of the identified calls were classified as fraudulent, contributing significantly to the overall spam landscape. With an average spam call duration of 1.8 minutes, the findings underscore the persistence of these unsolicited communications. As digital interactions continue to grow in India, the report serves as a critical reminder for users to remain cautious and for authorities to enhance regulations against such cyber threats.
