South African Cheetah Gamini Births 5 Cubs, Number In Kuno Park Now 38

On the third anniversary of the introduction of South African cheetahs to India, Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh has celebrated a significant milestone with the birth of five cubs by a female cheetah named Gamini. This event marks a vital step in the conservation efforts to re-establish the cheetah population in India, which had been extinct since the late 1940s. With the addition of these cubs, the total cheetah population in Kuno Park now stands at 38. The successful birth of these cubs not only enhances the genetic diversity of the species in the region but also highlights the ongoing collaboration between India and South Africa in wildlife conservation. The cheetahs, known for their remarkable speed and agility, are a symbol of wildlife heritage, and their thriving presence in Kuno Park is crucial for ecological balance and biodiversity. Conservationists are optimistic that with continued support and protection, the cheetah population will continue to grow, reinforcing India's commitment to wildlife preservation.
