Richard Pybus replaces Jonathan Trott as Afghanistan head coach

Richard Pybus has been appointed as the new head coach of the Afghanistan cricket team, taking over from Jonathan Trott. Pybus, who has previously coached various international teams and has substantial experience in the game, will join the squad as they prepare for an upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates next month. This change comes as Afghanistan aims to strengthen their performance in international cricket, particularly in the limited-overs format. Trott, who had been at the helm for a brief period, steps down amid challenges faced by the team in recent matches. Pybus’s extensive coaching background, including stints in T20 leagues and national teams, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and strategies to enhance the team's competitiveness on the global stage.
