PM Modi makes inaugural landing at Northeast’s 1st emergency landing facility in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant visit to Assam, marking the inauguration of the Northeast's first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) located on the Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh. The Prime Minister arrived in a C-130J aircraft of the Indian Air Force, underscoring the strategic importance of this facility for enhancing civil and military aviation operations in the region. This development is expected to bolster emergency response capabilities, particularly in remote areas, facilitating quicker airlift and evacuation during crises. The establishment of the ELF aligns with the government's broader initiative to upgrade infrastructure in the Northeast, which has historically faced connectivity challenges. By improving air transport facilities, the initiative aims to foster economic growth and enhance security in the region. Modi's visit reinforces the commitment of the central government to invest in the development of the Northeast, ensuring it becomes more accessible and integrated with the rest of India.
