Nepal: 18 People Killed In Bus Accident In Dhading

A tragic bus accident in Dhading, Nepal, has claimed the lives of 18 individuals and left 26 others injured. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM when a bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river along the Prithvi Highway, approximately 90 kilometers west of the capital. According to Bishnu Prasad Bhatta, spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, rescue operations were launched immediately to assist the victims. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in Nepal, where challenging terrain and heavy traffic contribute to frequent accidents. Authorities are urging stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
