NCERT apologises for chapter after SC ire, says error was ‘purely unintentional’

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has issued an apology following criticism from the Supreme Court regarding the inclusion of inappropriate content in one of its chapters. This acknowledgment comes after the Court expressed its displeasure, highlighting the need for educational materials that uphold the integrity and values of the Indian education system. In response, NCERT has committed to revising the chapter in question, promising to engage with educational experts to ensure that the revised content aligns with appropriate educational standards. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by educational authorities in maintaining the quality and relevance of school curricula while addressing the concerns of various stakeholders, including parents, educators, and legal bodies. The NCERT's proactive approach in rectifying this mistake reflects its dedication to improving educational resources and fostering a more respectful and informative learning environment for students across India.
