Majhi launches scheme to facilitate poor to visit Puri Jagannth temple

In a significant initiative aimed at promoting inclusivity and spiritual access, the Odisha government, under the leadership of Minister of State for Tourism, Ashok Chandra Panda, has launched a new scheme to enable economically disadvantaged individuals to visit the revered Puri Jagannath Temple. This initiative is designed to alleviate financial barriers that often prevent the poor from participating in religious pilgrimages. The scheme will provide transportation and accommodation arrangements for eligible participants, ensuring that they can experience the spiritual and cultural heritage of the temple. The Puri Jagannath Temple, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, attracts millions of devotees each year, and this new program underscores the government's commitment to making sacred places accessible to all. By facilitating these visits, the scheme not only aims to enhance the religious experience for the underprivileged but also seeks to foster a sense of community and belonging among diverse populations in Odisha and beyond.
