Ladakh Sets Guinness World Record For High Altitude Frozen Lake Half-Marathon

Ladakh has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a Guinness World Record for the highest altitude frozen lake half-marathon. The event took place on Monday and saw 75 participants run the challenging course that stretched from Lukung to Maan village, all at an impressive elevation. Organizers reported no injuries among the runners, highlighting the event's successful execution. Leh District Development Commissioner Shrikant Balasaheb Suse confirmed the completion of the four-hour marathon, which not only showcased the breathtaking landscape of Ladakh but also promoted sportsmanship and endurance among athletes. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the region, which is increasingly becoming a hub for adventure sports and tourism, drawing attention to its unique geographical features and cultural heritage.
