IPL betting scam case: Madras High Court directs MS Dhoni to pay ₹10 lakh for document translation

The Madras High Court has mandated that former Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni pay ₹10 lakh for the translation of documents related to his defamation lawsuit against a retired IPS officer. This ruling comes as part of ongoing legal proceedings in which Dhoni seeks justice over alleged defamatory statements made against him. The court has stipulated that the translation work is expected to take between three to four months, with a completion deadline set for March 2026. Additionally, the payment for the translation services must be made by March 12, 2026. This case underscores the complexities surrounding legal disputes in India, especially involving high-profile figures in the sports community, and highlights the importance of accurate documentation in legal processes.
