India Okays Rs 3.25 Lakh Crore Deal To Buy 114 Rafale Fighter Jets

The Indian Defence Ministry has officially sanctioned a substantial proposal amounting to Rs 3.25 lakh crore for the procurement of 114 Rafale fighter jets from France. This strategic move aims to bolster the capabilities of the Indian Air Force amidst evolving regional security dynamics. The Rafale jets, known for their advanced technology and versatility, are expected to enhance India's aerial combat prowess significantly. This deal comes in the wake of India's ongoing efforts to modernize its military fleet and ensure preparedness against potential threats. The procurement, which is part of a larger defense modernization initiative, aligns with the government's commitment to indigenous production and strengthening defense ties with France. The deal is anticipated to create numerous jobs and foster technology transfer, further enhancing India's defense manufacturing capabilities. As the situation in the Indo-Pacific region remains tense, this acquisition is seen as a critical step in maintaining a strategic edge over adversaries.
