IIT Bombay and Columbia University have joined forces to establish a new Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) focused on manufacturing. This initiative aligns with the Indian Ministry of Education's broader strategy, which has already seen the launch of four AI centers across the country, aimed at promoting advanced research in artificial intelligence. The collaboration seeks to develop innovative, scalable, and human-centric AI solutions to tackle real-world challenges in the manufacturing sector. By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, the center aims to enhance the integration of AI technologies within the industry, ultimately contributing to India's goal of becoming a global leader in AI and manufacturing.
