Dravid, Kumble, Rangaswamy to have stands named after them at Chinnaswamy Stadium

The iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is set to honor cricket legends Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, and former women's team captain Mithali Raj by naming stands after them. This decision marks a significant moment in Indian cricket, as it is only the fourth instance of a stadium stand being dedicated to a female cricketer. Mithali Raj's legacy as one of the greatest women cricketers in India is now celebrated alongside the illustrious careers of Dravid and Kumble, both of whom have made substantial contributions to Indian cricket. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of women's achievements in sports, particularly in a country where cricket is predominantly male-centric. By naming a stand after Raj, the Karnataka State Cricket Association aims to inspire future generations of female cricketers, underscoring the importance of gender inclusivity in the sport. This move is also expected to enhance the visibility of women's cricket, encouraging greater participation and support for the sport among young girls in India.
