Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra & Karnataka to get new railway tracks — Cabinet approves ₹18.5K crore projects

The Indian Cabinet has greenlit an ambitious railway project worth ₹18,500 crore, aiming to enhance connectivity and mobility across Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. This initiative is expected to significantly increase line capacity, thereby improving the operational efficiency and reliability of Indian Railways services. As part of the government's ongoing efforts to modernize the rail infrastructure, these new tracks are anticipated to alleviate congestion and facilitate smoother transit for passengers and freight alike. With an emphasis on boosting regional economies and reducing travel time, the project aligns with India's broader vision of enhancing transportation networks. The development is also seen as a key move to support the growing demand for rail services in these states, further integrating them into the national transportation framework.
