Class 10 admit cards with pass certificate valid as ID: SC in West Bengal SIR

The Supreme Court of India has clarified that Class 10 admit cards, when accompanied by pass certificates, are valid supplementary identity documents for the State Identification Register (SIR) exercise in West Bengal. This significant ruling aims to facilitate the ongoing process of verifying identities within the state, especially as officials work to resolve claims and objections submitted by residents. In a bid to expedite the SIR process, the court has also permitted the deployment of additional judicial officers, with a deadline set for February 28 to address these claims.
