China grants Canada, U.K. visa-free entry, raising total to 79 countries

In a significant policy shift, China has expanded its visa-free entry program to include Canada and the United Kingdom, raising the total number of countries eligible for such entry to 79. Under this new arrangement, travelers from these nations can visit China for up to 30 days without a visa, primarily for purposes such as business, tourism, family visits, and exchange programs. This decision reflects China's ongoing efforts to enhance international relations and promote tourism, particularly as the country seeks to recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The move is expected to facilitate greater cultural and economic exchanges and strengthen ties between China and the newly included countries. As global travel restrictions continue to ease, the expansion of this visa-free policy showcases China's commitment to fostering a more welcoming environment for international visitors.
