CBSE Board Exams: Students Cannot Improve Practical Marks, Schools May Reschedule Exams, Says Controller

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that students in Classes 10 and 12 will not be able to improve their practical exam marks. According to the Controller of Examinations, while students can seek to enhance their scores in theory papers, there is no provision for retaking or improving marks in practical assessments. This decision has implications for students who may have performed poorly in practicals, as they will not have the opportunity to rectify their scores. Additionally, the board has indicated that schools have the option to reschedule practical exams if necessary, providing some flexibility amid ongoing academic challenges. These announcements come as the CBSE prepares for the upcoming board examinations, which are critical for students as they transition to higher education. The board's regulations aim to maintain a standard evaluation process while ensuring that all students are treated fairly under the current examination framework.
