Airtel Unveils AI-Powered System Designed to Warn Users About OTP-Related Bank Frauds

Airtel has launched an innovative Fraud Alert system aimed at safeguarding users against one-time password (OTP) scams that have become increasingly prevalent in India. Utilizing advanced artificial intelligence, the system will identify potentially fraudulent incoming calls that arrive after users receive an OTP. Upon detection of such calls, Airtel will promptly alert its subscribers, thereby providing a crucial intervention against scams that have reportedly swindled Indians out of over Rs. 54,000 crore, as highlighted by the Supreme Court during a recent hearing. This proactive measure underscores Airtel's commitment to enhancing digital security for its customers, contributing to the broader effort to combat the surge in online banking frauds. The new system represents a significant step in utilizing technology to protect consumers from sophisticated scams that exploit the vulnerabilities in digital transactions, ensuring a safer online banking experience for all users.
