33-Hour Jam On Mumbai-Pune Expressway: MSRDC To Issue Rs 5 Crore Toll Refund To Over One Lakh Motorists

In response to a massive 33-hour traffic jam on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced a toll refund of approximately Rs 5.16 crore. This compensation is aimed at over 100,000 motorists who were affected by the unprecedented congestion caused by a combination of heavy rainfall and ongoing construction work. The refunds will be credited directly to the FASTag accounts of the eligible vehicle owners within the next few days. This decision comes as a relief for many commuters who faced significant delays and discomfort during the incident, which highlighted the challenges of managing traffic on one of India’s busiest highways. The MSRDC is taking steps to ensure smoother traffic flow in the future and to mitigate such situations, which have become more frequent due to infrastructure developments and weather conditions.
